Active video surveillance as the key to a modern security strategy
Active video surveillance as the key to a modern security strategy
Video surveillance is playing an increasingly prominent role in organisations’ security strategies. As a result, security guards and in-house security staff are increasingly required to carry out their duties via monitors. Due to the growth of video surveillance networks, increasingly complex infrastructures and strict regulations, security guards and operators must not only interpret these images correctly from a technical perspective, but also make the right decisions under time pressure. In response to this evolution, SERIS Academy has created the Active Video Surveillance training course.
Practical and flexible
This course at SERIS Academy combines theory with realistic scenarios and case studies, enabling participants to apply the techniques they have learnt immediately. It is held at the training centre in Diegem or at your location. In addition, the content can be tailored to various sectors such as healthcare, museums, industry or events. An additional module on the video management system used is also available.
- Course content
The two-day course consists of four modules.
- The first module covers video monitoring, prioritisation and alarm response, supplemented by insights into behavioural psychology.
- The second module focuses on technology, including camera installations, video monitoring and the legal requirements surrounding surveillance cameras.
- The third part centres on security awareness, with a focus on risk analysis, threat recognition and data protection.
- The course concludes with an evaluation session in which participants can analyse the knowledge they have acquired.
Throughout the various modules, attention is consistently paid to the legal framework within which participants operate. The various obligations, possibilities and limitations are integrated throughout the course to ensure that theory is directly translated into practical application.
Target audience
The training is aimed at security guards, internal security services, control room operators and security coordinators who monitor multiple screens and need to interpret images in real time. It is intended for professionals who wish to strengthen their technical and operational skills in a context where video surveillance is playing an increasingly important role.
